This Privacy Policy outlines how Lady Church Design, LLC (formerly One Dame Studios) (“Lady Church Design”) collects, uses, and protects information. This Privacy Policy has been created to better inform those concerned about how their “Personally Identifiable Information” (PII) is used online.

 

PII, as defined by U.S. privacy law and information security standards, is information that can be used alone or with other data to identify, contact, or locate a single person, or to identify an individual in context. Readers are encouraged to review this Privacy Policy carefully to understand how Lady Church Design collects, uses, protects, and handles personally identifiable information as described on its website (the “Site”).

Information Collected

Lady Church Design may collect the following information when individuals interact with the Site:

  • Personal Information: Name, email address, organization name, affiliation, or messages submitted through contact forms.

    • When communicating through the site, you may be asked, as necessary, to provide your name, email address, or other details to enhance your experience.

    • When paying for a service, product, or invoice, you will be required to provide a billing and/or shipping address.

How is personal information used?

When paying for a service, product, or invoice, your name, email address, and billing and/or shipping address will be saved in your customer profile through the merchant service “Stripe” and recorded as a sale. Lady Church Design may also use the information it collects when individuals register, sign up for the newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, browse the website, or use certain other features of the Site.

 

These forms of communication are established only when an individual opts in to receive them. Lady Church Design does not sell, rent, or trade personal information.

How is non-personal information used?

Lady Church Design uses non-personal information to evaluate its marketing and communication efforts by analyzing data collected through platform tools such as Google Analytics. Cookies may also be used to understand user preferences based on previous or current Site activity, enabling Lady Church Design to improve its services.

How does Lady Church Design protect your information?

Lady Church Design regularly scans its website for security vulnerabilities and known threats to help ensure the Site remains as safe as possible, including malware.

 

Personal information is stored on secure networks and is accessible only to a limited number of individuals with special access rights to these systems, who are required to maintain its confidentiality. In addition, all sensitive and credit information provided by users is encrypted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.

 

Lady Church Design implements a variety of security measures when users enter, submit, or access their information to protect personal information. All transactions are processed through the gateway provider, Stripe, and are not stored or processed on Lady Church Design’s servers.

Cookies and Tracking

Lady Church Design may use cookies or analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to better understand how visitors use the Site. Cookies are small files that a website or its service provider transfers to a user’s computer hard drive through the user’s web browser, if permitted, which enables the Site’s or service provider’s systems to recognize the browser and capture and remember certain information.

 

Cookies may be used to compile aggregate data on Site traffic and interactions to improve Site experiences and tools in the future. Lady Church Design may also use trusted third-party services to track this information on its behalf.

Third-Party Disclosure & Links

Lady Church Design does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer Personally Identifiable Information to outside parties unless otherwise stated below. From time to time, the Site may include or offer third-party products or services at Lady Church Design’s discretion. These third-party sites maintain separate and independent privacy policies.

 

Accordingly, Lady Church Design has no responsibility or liability for the content or activities of such linked sites. Nonetheless, Lady Church Design seeks to protect the integrity of the Site and welcomes feedback about these third-party sites.

Lady Church Design may share your information only:

  • With partners that you explicitly choose to contact through their communication methods (forms, live chat, and email)

  • When required by law or court order

  • To protect their rights or respond to suspected misuse of the Site

California Online Privacy Protection Act

CalOPPA is the first state law in the country to require commercial websites and online services to display a clear and concise privacy policy. The law’s scope extends beyond California, mandating that any individual or company in the United States that operates websites that collect Personally Identifiable Information from California residents must post a clear privacy policy on their website. This policy should specify precisely what information is being collected and with whom it is shared.

According to CalOPPA, we agree to the following:

  • Users can visit the site anonymously

  • The Privacy Policy is available on each page on the Site

  • You will be notified of any Privacy Policy changes on the Privacy Policy page

  • You can change your personal information by emailing the owner

Fair Information Practices

The Fair Information Practice Principles are central to U.S. privacy law and have significantly influenced data protection laws worldwide. Understanding and properly implementing these principles is important for compliance with privacy regulations designed to safeguard personal information.

To align with the Fair Information Practice Principles, Lady Church Design will take the following responsive action in the event of a data breach: affected users will be notified through an in-site notification within one business day.

 

Lady Church Design also acknowledges the Individual Redress Principle, which provides that individuals have the right to pursue legally enforceable remedies against data collectors and processors that fail to comply with applicable law. This principle ensures that individuals have access to courts or government agencies authorized to investigate and prosecute non-compliance.

CAN-SPAM Act

The CAN-SPAM Act is a U.S. law that establishes rules for commercial email, sets requirements for commercial messages, gives recipients the right to stop receiving such emails, and imposes penalties for violations.

 

Lady Church Design may collect and use an individual’s email address when that individual pays for a service, product, or invoice through Stripe; registers through the Site; signs up for the newsletter; responds to a survey or marketing communication; browses the website; or uses certain other features of the Site.

Email addresses may be used to:

  • Provide information related to services, products, or invoices

  • Connect individuals with resources, partners, and events

  • Respond to inquiries

  • Improve the Site and user experience

  • Share occasional updates or marketing communications with individuals who have opted in to receive them

To comply with CAN-SPAM, Lady Church Design agrees to the following:

  • To not use false or misleading subjects or email addresses.

  • Identify the message as an advertisement in some reasonable way.

  • Include the physical address of our business or site headquarters.

  • Monitor third-party email marketing services for compliance, if applicable.

  • Honor opt-out/unsubscribe requests quickly.

To opt-out of communications:

  • Users can unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of each email, or request removal directly.

  • If you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails at any time, please email the owner at hello@lizchurch.com, and they will promptly remove you from all correspondence.

COPPA (Children Online Privacy Protection Act)

When collecting personal information from children under 13, the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), enforced by the Federal Trade Commission, the U.S. consumer protection agency, sets out the steps that website and online service operators must take to safeguard children’s privacy and safety online. Therefore, Lady Church Design does not specifically target children under 13.
